Born March 3rd 1938. Wynfrith J.F. Wagner coined the terms “transoptical structure” and “transoptics”. TOS - The Art of Transoptic Structure. Born in Koblenz on the Rhine and Moselle, he studied architecture at the RWTH in Aachen. Graduated in 1964. From 1958 he began informal drawing and painting. Since the middle of 1971 independent development of the graphics and painting of the transoptical structure - TOS - and formulation of the basic ideas of a figurative construction. From 1965 worked as an architect in Berlin, then in Düsseldorf from 1969 studio in Lörick, from 1979 in Meerbusch, participation in national and international architectural competitions, construction of buildings. In 1980 the manifesto for "Transoptical Structure for Painting, Sculpture and Architecture" was written in the wake of corresponding sculptural and architectural works. Exhibitions of paintings, wall objects, collages and graphics since 1984, sculpture since 1988. Publication of a series of publications on TOS after it had been introduced into architecture. Publications in the trade press. Since 1994 studio in Berlin-Mitte, from 1996 in connection with the AtelierGalerie Aujourd'hui, from the end of 2000 development of the project of a cathedral with academy and convention of the ecumenism of the world religions in Berlin-Mitte, on the Schlossplatz, then on the Marx-Engels -Forum.
